Inverell Art Society Competitive Art Exhibition 2011
Borderline was well represented among the winners of the Inverell Art Society Competetive Exhibition 2011, judged by Tanya Robertson-Cuninghame, Neville Field, and Doreen Winkley (Floral Art Judge).
Our president John Donnelly won this year’s Special Feature ‘Contemporary Art’, with his abstract piece ‘Habitat’. Judge Tanya Robertson-Cuninghame was a little lost for words, being smitten with the piece. In second place was one of our newest members, Nadia Varelle Kliendanze with ‘Macintyre River (A Bird’s Eye View)’. Welcome to Borderline Nadia!
Margaret Oban Dowe won the 3D section (Pottery, Woodcraft, Sculpture) with her giant leaf constructed from tea bags, titled ‘365 Cups of Tea & Counting’. In second place was Maggie Brockie with her delightful platypus ‘Early Morning Dip’.
Borderline artist Nola Taylor came second in the Creative Fibre & Textiles section with ‘Oil Colours on Canvas Coat’
Congratulations to our members on a great result.
The exhibition runs from 15th Oct to 29th October 2011 at the Inverell Art Gallery.
