Pam Docherty
I have always wanted to Paint, using water colour, and did attend various classes while I was working. However, time was short so I prepared to follow my desire after I retired. We retired to Tenterfield and I now am able to enjoy my art and my silver Jewellery making. I studied making Jewellery prior to retirement and assembled all of my equipment. I like to both paint and preserve the plants in silver that grew in my garden of over 30 years, at the bottom of the Blue Mountains.
I now use plant materials from Tenterfield too. I found Borderline arts soon after arriving so it became easy for me to become involved in my hobbies. I Joined the Friday art group, which I enjoyed as there was always discussions and exchange of views about current projects. I was invited to join The Artists’ collective Studio here in Tenterfield and enjoy participating in this venture. I have begun working with both bronze and copper and feel there is a long way for me to go in this area combining the different metals.
My painting is progressing, I still have much to explore. My head is overflowing with things to do. I have trouble at times fitting in my activities. Retirement has become almost excessively busy but great fun.
