Emma Muir
Born in Derbyshire, England. I am a Queensland based Painter and Sculptor who studied in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, starting with a Diploma of Art and Design and graduating with a Bachelor of Art majoring in Ceramic Sculpture and minoring in Painting.
My work has varied over the years from figurative work to abstract forms, holding multiple influences interchanging from 2 to 3 dimensions and combining multiple mediums from pottery, through to glass, bronze work, painting and photography.
I am drawn to the relationship of colours, the elements of composition and the random influences of the chance mark and how it translates more information than intended.
I love how form and imagery can communicate past the mind to the heart and can be just as powerful as the spoken word.
